I'm on a journey to start eating healthy and to become fit this is a new year and I'm tired of carrying the extra's around, I have been on the "bodybyvi" shakes which worked out really good for me but I cannot afford the shakes at this time, I have lost 25 pounds by just taking the shakes twice a day with no exercise. In 2008 I was diagnosed with having Type II diabetes losing weight have always been a struggle for me. I inherited the disease from my Mother, I remember watching her take insulin and take "sugar pills" when I was first diagnosed I literally cried because I just pictured myself going on insulin, thank God that I have been maintaining my diabetes with the "sugar pill" and no insulin. I had to educate myself on the disease and move forward.
Eating right and healthy is the key, I'm trying and I hope to one day be off of my meds for good. I'm seeking out a support group for Diabetes to help me along my way. I stubbled across a website called www.Humalog.com for step by step support and recipes. If there are any diabetics out there let me know if you know of any other support groups in this area.
The hardest part for me on this journey is exercise it is really hard to get into the routine of exercise. Perhaps I can look for my jump rope and start jumping rope the key is to find out what works for me. I have to stay focused on my journey I know that the rewards will be great to promote good health and to be worry free of diabetes and all that can progress with it.
I witnessed my mother's health failing due to diabetes in results of her not taking care of her health, she suffered from high blood pressure, kidney failure, and lost sight in one eye. I refuse to let this disease take me down like that I'm going to beat this thing and win!!!!
This is a great attitude to have. I can only admire the courage you have to want to make a change in your life. We all have some things that we want to change about ourselves but we never really go through. Stay strong I'm sure you'll make it!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I was diagnosed with type II diabetes like 5 years ago I saw my world crumbling. After I decided that was the time for a change. I start making little changes in my eating habits like drinking more water, more vegetable & fruits and doing more exercise. After a couple of years I saw a big turnaround and also start taking a pill called Protandim that change my life.
